Arrived in Aukland , and waited about two hours to get through "Passport Control". Thirty seconds of dumb questions ("Where are you from?" as he stares at my passport) and we were through, missing our connection to Wellington. However, they fly every hour. Fine. We go to get our luggage. No clothes for me. We deal with a really snotty lady at the Air New Zealand baggage counter ("...it never left London" "We weren't IN London" "You left London" "NO, we left LA." "Oh, well, your luggage is in London.") Anyway, no clothes, but on to the hotel. Got dinner around 3:00pm, bought a shirt to replace the one I'd worn for 41 hours first though. Went for a walk to the pier while dad went to sleep. Went back and slept around 14 hours.

Regarding our trip to alternate dimensions, we landed being 18 hours in the future. Parts of Wellington are familiar, but there are plenty of hints that it's not Kansas anymore. Like driving on the left, and although the trees have trunks, branches and leaves, none are quite right. Food is also alternate. It sounds the same but it's not. Had cornbread (not quite), sausage, eggs, hash brown, sauteed mushrooms, baked beans (!), stewed tomato and bacon (not quite the same somehow, and TONS of it, like, think a pack at the store) piled on one plate. And this was not the "big" breakfast.
